There is no doubt that innovative technologies require strategic thinking, foresight, insight and creativity.  A few blogs ago I mentioned my pleasant surprise on learning that persistence was an important trait for the super-creative during a boost-your-creativity workshop. Nathan Kony explains how the Impressionist painter Gustave Caillebotte forced Musée du Luxembourg in Paris to hang the ‘worst’ of his 7 friends’ paintings. Gustave was so keen on this request that even when he died, it was inserted as a clause in his will and the exposure that his friends gained helped to put them on the map. (Pub quiz: can you guess the 7 friends?). Manet, Monet, Cezanne, Degas, Renoir, Pissaro and Sisley. Today impressionism is mostly known for the work of these 7.
