Opportunity ... International Scholarships and Jobs for the week ending 26 August 2017

"I don't know a single person that wants to earn minimum wage". These were the wise words of a US Democratic party politician during a workshop on ways to address chronic inequality. To put the statement in context, moderate Democratic party politicians met in a cool, mist-shrouded resort in Aspen, Colorado earlier this month to ponder how to make their message stick (obviously they have not read this blog) and win back the White House. The unnamed politician noted that while it is right to campaign for a minimum wage, very few people set out in life with that as the ultimate goal. Therefore creating a living wage should only be the starting point.

Frankly I agree with him. 

I know that while the promise of free college and/or university tuition may be a crowd-pleaser, someone must pick up the tab at the end of the day. Moreover as previously mentioned, there are several ways to refinement.
