The Young are failing Africa as Much as the Old
Guess who is back? What? You did not notice that I was gone? Just as well then because my vanishing act is much like the global youth of today. We are omnipresent on social media but absent in the corridors of power where the real decisions are made. The most recent British election shows the power of the young and the young at heart. It was your voice and votes that gave Mr Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party an unexpected buoyancy. Okay I admit that Prime Minister Theresa May and her Conservatives made that easy. No thanks to the death wish of a hard BREXIT but you generally get my drift. Did someone ask which election? Goodness where have you been? Well today we have my "egbon" Simon Adeniyi of ThisDay fame highlighting the gerontocracy that Africa has become. This is particularly confusing since 80% of the population consists of people below the age of 40. My simple question is, " What are you going to do about it ?".
